An equal amount (2μg) of bacterial protein was loaded to perform SDS-PAGE and a 1:2000 dilution of

anti-BabA polyclonal antibody (Ab, a gift from Prof. Odenbreit) was used in a western blot [17]. The detection of BabA protein was eFT-508 concentration performed with Super Signal® West Pio Chemiluminescent substrate (Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., Rockford, IL, USA) and exposed in an LAS-3000 imaging system (Fujifilm, Tokyo, Japan). Statistics Statistical analysis was performed by the Chi-square test, Fisher exact test, Mann-Whitney U test and Student’s t test as appropriate.
