To manage lateral depressions of the posterolateral tibial plateau, including rim involvement, this study advocates a surgical approach involving osteotomy of the lateral femoral epicondyle combined with osteosynthesis using a one-third tubular horizontal plate.
Thirteen patients, presenting with fractures in the posterior lateral aspect of the tibial plateau, were the subject of our evaluation. The assessments included the degree of depression (quantified in millimeters), the efficacy of reduction, any complications encountered, and the subsequent functional capacity.
All fractures and osteotomies have finalized their consolidation process. Men (n=8) comprised the majority of patients, who had a mean age of 48 years.
