Two ICRS were implanted without complication, and postoperative examination showed improved visual acuity and decreased corneal elevation on scanning-slit tomography imaging. However,
over the following 2 months, he complained of persistent pain in the right eye. Confocal microscopy showed a corneal nerve touching the superonasal ICRS. The ICRS was removed, and shortly thereafter the patient’s pain resolved.”
“The rheological behavior and morphology of polystyrene/carbon nanofiber (PS/CNF) composites in their melt phase have been characterized through experimental measurements. Viscosity measurements G418 supplier of the PS/CNF composites in the linear viscoelastic regime show the ratio of the transient extensional viscosity to the transient shear viscosity to be greater than three, the Trouton ratio. This behavior is due to differences in the flow-induced orientation of CNFs in shear and extensional flow. The orientation development of the CNFs in shear and extensional flow was analyzed through a method utilizing transmission electron microscopy and was used to explain observed rheological phenomena. “In this work, electrohydrodynamic (EHD) jetting phenomena were observed for three different types of bottom electrode (plane, hole, pin) at constant back pressure condition of the reservoir. Especially, we have focused on the measurement and numerical prediction of the onset voltage for pulsating Taylor cone jetting, changing glass capillary nozzle diameter (outer diameter: 16-47 mu m), hydrostatic back pressure head in the reservoir, and the distance between the nozzle and the bottom electrode to provide design information on the EHD multinozzle head. “A 45-year-old woman developed a corneal infiltrate 14 months after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) enhancement in the
left eye. The LASIK flap was lifted, scraped, and irrigated with fortified vancomycin Kinase Inhibitor Library and ceftazidime. Scraped samples were cultured and grew Brevundimonas vesicularis. The patient remained on topical ceftazidime until improvement was noted and was then switched to topical levofloxacin. The keratitis resolved on antibiotic agents with strong gram-negative coverage and a steroid. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a B vesicularis ocular infection.”
“Pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) was used as a reinforcement in polyolefins. Polypropylene (PP) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) composites with different fiber lengths (long and short fibers) and fiber contents (0-25%) were prepared and characterized. The results showed that the tensile strength of the composites increased when the PALF contents were increased. It was observed that the composites containing long fiber PALF were stronger than the short fiber composites as determined by greater tensile strength.
