Methods: ICHD-II criteria for probable MOH (pMOH) were transformed in questions formulated in such a way that they could be self-administered, easily understood, and quickly filled out. We compared this questionnaire TPCA-1 to the gold standard: the diagnosis made by headache specialists, based on the the ICHD-II criteria. Patients who were consulting for pMOH or migraine for the first time were consecutively included. As validity indicators,

we calculated sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values of the items.

Results: Seventy-nine patients were screened, 77 included, 2 female patients excluded. Forty-two patients have been considered as suffering from pMOH, 35 patients suffered from migraine without medication overuse. The association of the question “”do you take a treatment for attacks more than 10 days per month”" and the question “”is this intake on a regular basis?”" had a sensitivity of 95.2% and a specificity of 80%.

Conclusion: This screening tool can detect pMOH with a sensitivity

that could be of interest to screen patients in clinical practice and to pre-include patients for research as epidemiological studies.”
“In virtue of the potential biomedical application of carbon nanotube (CNT), the CNT was hybridized into a supramolecular hydrogel based on the selective inclusion of alpha-cyclodextrin (alpha-CD) onto poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) segments of a triblock copolymer, i.e., PEO-block-poly(propylene oxide)-block-PEO. Different from the previous report, the content of alpha-CD, in contrast to that of ethylene BIIB057 manufacturer oxide unit, was decreased to decrease the network

density in hydrogel and hence improve the diffusion of encapsulated substances. As a result, the modulus Of the hydrogels climbed slightly after introducing CNT. Furthermore, as the essential properties for Wound dressing, the antimicrobial activity, the skin-adhesion, and water-retention of Such supramolecular hybrid hydrogels were also verified. On the Wortmannin in vivo other hand, the supramolecular hybrid hydrogels inherited the shear-thinning property and are Suitable as an injectable biomaterial. The cell viability assay confirmed the equivalent cytotoxicity of the supramolecular hybrid hydrogels to that of the native hydrogels without CNT. Consequently, Such CNT-hybridized supramolecular hydrogel shows a great potential in the biomedical application. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 116: 1894-1901, 2010″
“It is demonstrated that in the doped manganites the antiferromagnetic phase transforms into the ferromagnetic canted phase under the action of the mobile electron hopping. It is shown that the colossal magnetoresistance effect can be conditioned by the change in the magnetization canting angle at the application of a constant magnetic field.
